Brenda James, RN, ARNP

Born in Oklahoma City, Brenda received her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in May 1992.  She has a varied nursing experience that includes critical care nursing , pediatric and adult oncology care as well as an extensive background both in the inpatient and outpatient setting for bone marrow/stem cell transplantation. Before pursuing her graduate studies Brenda worked for Cancer Care Associates for 10 years. During that time she functioned in a multitude of roles including outpatient transplant nurse at the Baptist campus before coming to the Mercy campus where she served as clinic nurse for Dr. James Reeves as well as clinical supervisor of the Mercy clinic.  She received her Masters of Science degree with a specialization in Family Practice from Texas Women's University and is certified for Family Practice through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and certified for oncology through the Oncology Nurses Society.  

Brenda will see you for follow-up appointments, symptom management and support, to clarify information and provide education for you and your family.  As a nurse practioner, employed by your physician, she will always keep your doctor informed and up to date on your condition and work closely with him to provide the best possible care, including prescribing medications, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other radiological studies.
