Kristin Thorp, MD

 

Dr. Kristin Thorp is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a graduate of Carl Albert High School.  She studied at the University of Oklahoma and graduated summa cum laude, receiving a bachelors degree in Microbiology.  After attending the University of Oklahoma medical school and graduating with honors, she moved on to a three-year internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma.  Finally, she completed a combined fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology, also at the University of Oklahoma.  During her fellowship she served as chief fellow, and wrote several innovative clinical trials using a new radioisotope, FLT, in PET imaging.  She also traveled to Europe and formed a personal collaboration with researchers in Groningen, the Netherlands. Dr. Thorp is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as board certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology.  She accepts new patients in medical oncology and hematology and practices at Cancer Care Associates at the Norman office.

In her free time, Dr. Thorp enjoys travel, reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and family.
